US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded approximately $1 billion in net inflows on a single trading session, the largest single-day figure of 2026, according to Finnhub. The inflows were led by BlackRock's IBIT, ARK Invest's ARKB, and Fidelity's FBTC. Ether ETFs added $270 million in the same period. Year-to-date net flows turned positive for the first time since April 2026, with total net assets across spot Bitcoin ETF products exceeding $110 billion.

The inflow surge coincided with Bitcoin trading near $85,980–$87,374 following a roughly 7% rally earlier in the week, with the cryptocurrency breaking above a resistance zone of $81,517–$82,833 that had held since February 2026. Short liquidations and fresh institutional buying were identified as contributing factors to the move. Over five consecutive trading days, total inflows into US spot Bitcoin ETFs reached $2.65 billion, though daily inflows moderated to $347 million by 24 September as Bitcoin pulled back below $84,000 from its $87,000 peak.

IBIT, ARKB, and FBTC — the three largest US spot Bitcoin ETFs by reported inflow volume — directly received the institutional capital flows described in this event. ETHA, a spot Ether ETF, captured a portion of the $270 million in Ether ETF inflows recorded in the same session.

No official regulatory or government response to the inflow data was reported in the cluster. A quarterly expiration of approximately $15 billion in Bitcoin options contracts was noted as approaching during this period, representing a scheduled derivatives market event concurrent with the inflow activity.
