Block Inc.'s Cash App on Wednesday launched the Cash App Wand, a pearlescent, star-shaped accessory equipped with near-field communication (NFC) technology that allows users to make contactless payments at terminals without reaching for a phone or card. Priced at $25 plus applicable sales tax, the wand is available exclusively through Cash App and is the first product in a new line called Cash App Tags. The product is limited to eligible Cash App Card holders aged 13 and above, and is available while supplies last.

The wand features a keychain attachment so that customers can clip, wear, or carry it. According to Block's official press release, the accessory is designed to match the way Generation Z expresses style and identity. Block Inc., which lists on the NYSE under the ticker XYZ, described Cash App Tags as NFC-enabled physical payment accessories intended as the first in a series of tap-to-pay hardware products from Cash App. The company said further accessories in the line are planned, though no additional products were announced at launch.

The Cash App Wand launch follows a period of hardware and payments expansion at Block. In July 2025, Cash App introduced Tap to Pay on iPhone for Cash App Business sellers, enabling more than one million sellers to accept contactless payments — including credit and debit cards, Apple Pay, and other digital wallets — directly on iPhone with no additional hardware required. Separately, at Bitcoin Las Vegas 2026, Block demonstrated NFC tap-to-pay functionality with Square, showing how merchants could accept bitcoin as easily as a contactless card, with zero percent processing fees through 2026.
